Why Eating Out Is Become Socially And Economically Acceptable

Time flies and with comes many changes. It’s quite astonishing that how much change from modernization has brought over time. Not just modernization to be the most influential but also the cultural integration that has been happening. Changes have come forth in many practices of a culture but the motive of this paper is to look in to the shifts in consumer food preferences, in the context of food consumption from home cooking or eating out such as restaurants or local diners etc. I am a Bangladeshi and from Bangladesh’s perspective it is quite difficult to explain the change, hence I would also prefer adding western countries like America to make the topic more liable. Overall, the motive of this paper is to understand why eating out has become socially and economically acceptable, and also trying to include how class difference has influenced it. According to Smith (2013), he said that it is well documented that in America eating out has become more common than cooking at home. Now, from the perspective of Bangladesh eating out is a regular practice to a set of people- the community that lives in Old Town Dhaka.
